SEMCOA’s Family Centers…

  • Support families as they journey from homelessness to permanent sustainable housing
  • Provide essential wrap-around services
  • Educate families about community-based services
  • Work with families on their respective needs, including parenting, domestic violence, education, and healthy lifestyle subjects
  • Work with families to develop short and long-term goals

Service Description: 

SEMCOA provides emergency shelter and support services to families at its four sites in Fall River, New Bedford, Taunton, and Wareham. Families are also assisted with securing permanent, sustainable housing.  Referrals must be received through the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Conditions (EOHLC) who can be contacted at (866)-584-0653

Admission

Families apply at the Department of Transitional Assistance to determine eligibility for emergency assistance (EA). Eligible families are placed in units throughout the state by the Executive Office of Housing & Livable Communities.
