High Point understands the challenges of accessing mental health services in our communities. In order to meet the need, we have partnered with area schools to offer therapeutic services during school hours. Students can sit down with a clinician weekly to process any struggles they may be experiencing. Symptoms may include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, truancy/non-compliance, ADHD, and spectrum disorders.
School-based services also help support administrative staff, as well as the child’s family by removing the burden of weekly scheduling and transportation to outside mental health services. Students are connected to services much quicker faster, thereby avoiding lengthy outpatient waitlists. Parents should contact their child’s school to inquire about High Point’s school-based program.
