High Point’s Behavioral Health Crisis Services, located at 10 Meadowbrook Road in Brockton, MA, provide immediate support to individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Our Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) program operates 24/7/365 and serves as the designated Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) for Brockton and surrounding towns. MCI offers rapid, flexible, and compassionate evaluations conducted by master’s-level clinicians, available in-person, via telehealth, or in the community. Services include assessment, crisis planning, brief clinical interventions, and referrals tailored to the individual’s unique needs. Adults and youth can access help without a limit on how often they call, ensuring consistent support when it’s needed most.
Adjacent to MCI, our Adult Community Crisis Stabilization (ACCS) unit offers short-term, 24/7 inpatient treatment for adults aged 18+ who need intensive support in a safe and structured environment. Licensed by the Department of Mental Health, ACCS provides a full continuum of care including individual and group therapy, psychiatric consultation, medication management, peer support, and discharge planning. Each patient is partnered with a clinician upon admission, and a multidisciplinary care team collaborates daily to support progress and plan for a smooth transition back into the community. Referrals are accepted around the clock to ensure timely access to care when it matters most.
Services are outpatient services provided to patients experiencing a behavioral health emergency (crisis). Patients are provided brief intervention through evaluation, assessment, medication management, and aftercare coordination with the goal of stabilization of psychiatric symptoms. The evaluation provided by a Masters Clinician assists in determining what is the right treatment at the right time based on clinical presentation. Adult (ages 21+) and youth (ages 3-20) can be provided either in-person, via telehealth or mobile at a community location.
High Point MCI is the designated CBHC for the Brockton community and following surrounding towns: Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, Brockton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Holbrook, Rockland, Stoughton, West Bridgewater, and Whitman.
When will my evaluation be scheduled?
When the Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) receives the request for an evaluation, the triage clinician will assist with determining the best day, time and location of the evaluation. We are able to see patients within 60 minutes/1 hour of the requested start time of the evaluation. We are able to offer you to be seen by our clinician either on-site at the MCI office, through telehealth or mobile where we can come to you in the community. The clinician will review all options for the evaluation, schedule the date/time that works for you, and let you know who will be completing your evaluation. If you need to change your evaluation for any reason, you can give the office a call and we will work to provide alternative options. We are able to offer evaluations 24 hours a day/7 days a week, upon your request.
What can I expect during an evaluation?
During your evaluation, a clinician will meet with you to gather information about your mental health and substance use history, identify what is going on today that is causing difficulties in your life, and questions to ensure your safety. At times a bachelor level clinician or family partner may assist in the evaluation to provide you and your family additional support. You will be asked to sign consents and releases for treatment, ask who we can contact for services, and an emergency contact. We will also develop a Crisis/Safety Plan with you to identify a plan when you are feeling unwell with your mental health and how to manage your symptoms in a safe way. The time to complete the evaluation will depend on gathering the information needed to best identify a plan to help meet your needs, as well as contacting collaterals and review of your record.
What happens after the evaluation is completed?
After the clinician completes the evaluation, they will contact the onsite supervisor to review the information and determine the best next steps for treatment based on safety and your identified needs/preferences. The clinician will review available options for services, including: outpatient referrals, medication referral, day treatment program, in-home services, community supports, and other levels of care as clinically appropriate. You have the right to refuse specific referrals to agencies or levels of care in the community and we will work with you to identify the referrals you feel would best meet your needs. In the event that you may need an inpatient hospitalization for safety concerns related to your mental health, the clinician will work with you to refer to an inpatient program.
After the evaluation, the MCI team is able to offer ongoing daily check-ins and support for a period of time to ensure your mental health needs are being met and complete referrals. Adults (patients aged 21+) are able to receive daily support for up to 3 days, and youth (aged 20 and younger) are able to receive daily support for up to 7 days post evaluation.
How often can I receive services from Mobile Crisis?
Mobile crisis is available at anytime that you feel you may be experiencing a crisis or need additional support. There is no limit on how often you can receive an evaluation. Although mobile crisis can provide a full evaluation to help assist with coordinating services and addressing safety concerns, we are also able to provide you with support when there is not a crisis. You may call the crisis team anytime for phone support to help talk through a stressful situation, review of your coping skills, and getting feedback on a challenging situation. We are able to offer ongoing support in addition to the full evaluation.
The ACCS program is licensed by the Department of Mental Health (DMH) to provide short term crisis stabilization in a community, safe environment for stabilization of behavioral health symptoms. Patients are provided brief intervention through evaluation, assessment, medication management and aftercare coordination with the goal of stabilization of psychiatric symptoms to be able to transition to community-based services post-admission. In addition, we offer both group and individual therapy, case management, peer specialist support, psychiatric intervention, access to Medication Assisted Treatment and discharge planning. Patients are able to be considered for treatment if they are 18 years old and older, have a behavioral health diagnosis, and able to engage in a safety plan.
The ACCS program is also dually licensed by the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) as an Acute Treatment Service (ATS) with the ability to provide withdrawal management/detox protocols for patients with dual diagnosis concerns.
